Portrait of Este Burger

Behind the project

I’m a biomedical electronic engineer with a passion for the science of enduring psychological change.

I want to build a future where people are better supported to grow into the most fulfilled versions of themselves, with greater agency.

This project focuses on building tools that help people uncover and take creative ownership of the mental models that shape their lives.

The philosophy

Your mindset shapes how you experience and move through life.

Your mindset is a unique system of beliefs and reasoning dynamics.

Understanding how it shapes your experiences gives you greater agency to change what holds you back and strengthen what helps you grow.

The approach

Capture your mindset as a digital asset.

Building tools that:

  • Capture

your mindset as a living digital model through AI‑guided reflection and computational modelling

  • Simulate

how your mindset may contribute to patterns in your life and relationships

  • Identify

which shifts could drive the most meaningful change

  • Integrate

    your model into personalised applications

Applications

A plugin for psychological applications

Mindset models become digital plugins for applications in:

  • Personal development

Chart personalised development journeys towards high-impact mindset shifts.

  • Education

Personalise learning by understanding how a learner’s mindset shapes their development and motivation.

  • Team development

See how individual mindsets interact to shape team dynamics.

  • Online dating

Enhance matching algorithms with mindset‑interaction insights.

Disciplines

Inviting expert perspective

The project sits at the intersection of several disciplines. I’m interested in connecting with experts across academia and industry who might have relevant insights to share.

  • Psychology & neuroscience

Provides the scientific grounding for how mental models influence perception, emotion, thought and action, and how enduring psychological change occurs.

  • Computational modelling

Formalises psychological processes in computational models that can be analysed, used to generate testable predictions, and evaluated against observed data.

  • Complex dynamic systems

Conceptualises how interacting parts of a mindset may produce stable patterns, feedback loops and change over time.

  • AI engineering

Enables guided reflection, extraction of relevant information, and the continual building and updating of personalised mindset models.

  • Agent-based modelling

Allows mindset models to be instantiated as agents to simulate how they may respond to situations or interact with other mindsets.
